If you are sick of hearing about core, skip past the numbers.
Well I don't think I need to go over why I hate the changes to premium membership, but I will anyway. Hopefully this will be clear and concise:
(I understand they want to use their profit from the price hike to provide more services in the future.)
1) Under no circumstances should a website charge you for changes they plan to make! It is highly unprofessional, and downright rude to your loyal users who have already been paying for the currently available "perks".
2) Don't market your price hike as "highly coveted core icon" when NO ONE asked for these changes.
3) Artists don't typically have the kind of money to pay for future plans on what boils down to a social media website.
OK! Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I think it should be obvious I wont be going back to paying for my membership. I can't afford it, plan and simple. As such, I built my own website, using blogger.
bevyart.blogspot.com/ It may not be as easy for some people to follow my work there, so I will still be posting everything where I normally do (here sporadically and on Society6). Even so, I think blogger is a great platform for everyone. With work, you are able to customize the website however you want. My favorite part of the site is that I can still show everything for free, both for me as well as the viewer, but I am able to make some money off of having ads on the page.
Please check out my site, and let me know if you make your own (I would love to see and maybe follow!) Lastly, if you are someone who follows blogs, you should try out feedly, it is awesome!
